Tiger Technology is proud to announce the immediate availability of version 4.0 of metaSAN, metaSAN iSCSI, metaLAN Server, and metaLAN with support for Mac OS Snow Leopard, Windows 7 and Linux RHEL 5.

New in version 4.0:

  • (Mac) added support for Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.x 32-bit
  • (Win) added support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
  • (Linux) added support for Autodesk smoke, flame, etc. 2010 (kernel 2.6.9-34.0.1)
  • (Linux) added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • (Linux) added support for FilmLight OS 1.3.3662
  • (Linux) added support for SuSe Linux 9.3 (i586)
     

Known limitations:

  • (Mac) Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.x 64-bit not yet available
  • (Mac) In a mix-Mac OS SnowLeopard/Tiger environment, it is best to use Mac OS X Snow Leopard workstation as the MDC (metadata controller) for the SAN for maximum compatibility

All users under Subscription are eligible to the 4.x upgrade, as well as users who have acquired ALL their site licenses as of October 2008.
