Harnessing the Tiger Intelligent Shared Storage Workflow Engine, Tiger Box1 provides you with a complete Shared Storage Workflow system that accelerates rich media production. It includes storage, networking, sharing, project management, and life-cycle management capabilities. With a simple web UI and direct Ethernet connectivity, Tiger Box1 makes it easy to setup shared storage workflows that let you focus on your work, not on system administration and maintenance.

Tiger Box1 offers the simplicity of NAS and the performance characteristics of a true SAN. The compact rack-mountable system combines a Metadata Master and highly optimized RAID (0, 5, 6) storage, comprised of 4 enterprise-class drives (drive capacity depends on specific configuration), which can be accessed by client computers via 10Gb Ethernet or 1Gb Ethernet. The system is easily expandable to 192 TB with up to two Tiger Expansion chassis.

Tiger Box1 is in a class of its own when it comes to simplicity, performance and sophistication. To deploy Tiger Box1 in your facility you simply need to connect the computers to Tiger Box via 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, then access Tiger Box1 via a web browser to download and install the client software.

Once you turn the appliance on, its RAID storage becomes instantly available to all connected clients. There’s no need to activate client licenses. The Tiger Box1 driver software ensures consistent and uninterrupted high-speed access, file arbitration and zoning.

All performance metrics, storage settings and statistics can be controlled/viewed by any computer through the web interface, which is accessible from any device on the same network with a web browser.

Using built-in projectStore you can create any number of virtual volumes with Avid bin locking capability. These volumes can then be mounted as local volumes on client computers for access by any and all creative applications.

If Tiger Box1 does not detect file activity for a few minutes, automatic defragmentation of the file system will kick in. As soon as Tiger Box detects activity, it stops defragmenting.

Connect your workstations using the network type that makes the most sense to you. Use standard 1Gb Ethernet ports for your day-to-day editing needs, such as Apple ProRes HQ. If your workflow integrates HD colour grading or Special FX, use the 10Gb Ethernet ports.
Unpack, connect and get to work with real SAN performance. Your workstations and laptops connect to Tiger Box1 over Ethernet using block level access for the most efficient data transfers.
Connect as many client computers as your workflow requires. Just install the Tiger client driver from the appliance and then connect to Tiger Box1 SSD directly or through a switch.
Unleash your productive potential with the fully integrated project collaboration workspace. The built-in projectStore allows you to create a virtual volume for each project folder on the shared storage, utilizing a check-in/check-out technique that prevents accidental overwrites. When the Avid emulation mode is enabled, the volume is available for multi-user write (i.e. any number of users can mount the volume for read and write).
The optional Replication & Tiering module allows Tiger Box1 to replicate itself to a specified target destination (network share, NAS, cloud storage or Data Direct Networks WOS). Tiger Box1 acts as your high-speed front-end storage and performs life-cycle management. With the Replication & Tiering module, there is always room for your new projects on Tiger Box1 as aging files that have been replicated to the nearline storage are automatically deleted from the high-speed storage when space is needed. A reference file remains in place, so Tiger Box1 can automatically bring your data back online as soon as you access it.
