IBM® FlashStorage® 900, an all-flash storage array powered by IBM FlashCore™ technology, delivers the blistering playback speeds required for the most demanding production and post applications, such as 2K/4K/8K editorial, graphics, color grading and mastering.

Tiger Serve, an integrated metadata controller and server, shares the FlashSystem, controls the project workflow, users, workspaces and media. It also manages backup and archives leveraging IBM Spectrum Archive™ and IBM tape systems with support for Linear Tape-Open™ (LTO) technology for data security on cost-effective, dependable tape.

Simultaneous, multi-user access without compromise

Tiger Serve is an integrated metadata controller and server with dual node failover capability that, when paired with IBM FlashSystem 900, creates a true, flash storage-based SAN. Artists and editors working on Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms using Fibre Channel and or Ethernet networks can access the entire storage capacity directly, or any number of dynamic, virtual workspaces. This enables a true shared project workflow, without the bottlenecks and project management limitations inherent to basic NAS products.

Tiger Serve transparently harnesses the raw power of IBM FlashSystem 900, sharing playback speeds of up to 10 GBps to let creative teams simultaneously access multiple streams of uncompressed 2K, 4K or 8K material. Tiger Serve manages Fibre connections, and using Tiger’s proprietary lag-reducing protocol, also makes the storage available over Ethernet for cost-effective performance. When you need more space, exclusive Tiger Smart Pooling technology lets you easily add capacity without reformatting, and also lets you pool different storage device types together.

Tiger projectStore PRO workflow software, available with Tiger Serve, gives advanced multi-user collaboration to all your creative tools, and provides full workspace, project, user, media, and metadata management to give you a complete media workflow platform. Your Tiger – IBM solution is perfect for large-team Avid and FCP X pipelines, as well as all your other creative applications too, including Linux based effects and color grading tools. projectStore PRO can dynamically link to Active Directory so all user settings are inherited and updated.

Performance Defined Workflows

Tiger Replication & Tiering, available with Tiger Serve, enables a Performance Defined Workflow that transparently puts the right files in the right place at the right time. Automatically manage the use of production storage by replicating files to IBM tape libraries or IBM Spectrum Archive for secure, low-cost removable backup, and make space available on FlashSystem 900 for new data and other projects.

Simple and Effective storage management

Use simple configuration, automatic policy-based settings, and standard networking, to seamlessly backup data, driven by user-friendly policies managed with a graphical web UI. Users can easily and automatically restore content on demand by simply calling for the file. Replication & Tiering preserves source volume file and folder structure using a simple stub-file workflow, so files always appear in their original location.
