Adobe Workflows with Tiger Series

Easy and smart collaborative workflows that manage themselves

Combine Tiger Technology Tiger Series and projectStore PRO to smooth out your workflow with Adobe graphics and editorial products, and concentrate on creativity instead of storage maintenance and project administration.

The Environment

Tiger Series provides you with a highly optimized and self-managed environment for collaborative workflows, allowing multiple Windows and Mac OS X computers to access high-speed shared storage simultaneously. You can choose from a wide range of client connectivity options and select the one that makes the most sense to you – standard 1GbE for day-to-day editing needs or 10GbE/8/16Gb FC for demanding applications such as full res HD, 2k and 4k.

The highly optimized Tiger Series storage is truly self-managed (with mechanisms for automatic defragmentation, RAID re-building, e-mail notifications in case of possible problems, etc.) and meets the requirements of the most demanding and mission critical workflows. The storage operates with full functionality in degraded mode, and a failed RAID drive can be replaced while the system is operating without losing any data on the volume. Additionally, Tiger Series allows replicating selected data onto a network share, reclaiming storage space by deleting data that is already replicated, and restoring to its original location from the replication tier with a single mouse-click.

The Workflow

With the help of projectStore PRO, Tiger Series’ integrated workspace for project collaboration, you can smooth out your workflow, by utilizing drive-per-project approach, persistent drive letters, workgroup or domain user authentication, project templates and project re-use, importing of existing projects, etc.

Drive-per-project with persistent drive letter

With a single mouse-click in the projectStore PRO’s web interface you can create a container for an Adobe project and then mount it as a separate local drive. As Adobe products always uses the same path for access to projects, you can assign persistent drive letters to the project drive on all Windows computers that will access them, and eliminate the risk of media going offline.

Full control of projects

Each user can mount his/her own or shared project folders with Read/Write, Read Only or Exclusive permissions. You can work simultaneously with multiple projects – mounting the one you’re editing with Read & Write permissions, while another one, from which you’re just copying media, is mounted with Read Only permissions. You can also mount a project with Exclusive permissions, which means that no other computer can mount it neither for editing, nor for viewing until you close it on your computer. To protect a project from further changes, you can lock it, and provide preview-only access to it.

Access Permissions

Whether or not you have deployed your Tiger Series in an Active Directory domain, projectStore PRO allows you to utilize permissions based on domain or workgroup (internal projectStore) user accounts and thus refine the control over who can access to projects.

Easy Collaboration and Review

Project contents are accessible by any browser – simply open the web interface and search the projects by title, description, keywords or detected metadata. projectStore PRO generates proxy media for all media files in the project folders in order to facilitate previewing projects’ contents without having to mount them. Pre-installed parsers scan the projects in order to index project files, media files and specific application files and to speed up search queries.
