March 13, 2019, Alpharetta, GA – Tiger Technology, an industry veteran in file system virtualization at scale for production and archive, today announced the launch of Tiger Bridge 3.5, an HSM Tiering & Synchronization software connector that unifies file-level block and object storage into a single namespace.
Tiger Bridge enables application cloud interoperability and makes data life-cycle management radically simple. Running at the kernel level on any Windows system, Tiger Bridge provides a simple administrative console where policies are created to determine file locality based on last access time and/or volume capacity. Managed directories or volumes maintain local performance for active files while policies work in the background replicating or migrating data to secondary target storage locations. Migrated files are replaced with zero-byte stub files. These placeholders allow applications to function transparently as if the data exists in its original location. Users and applications no longer need to worry where data is actually stored: on premises, in the cloud or hybrid.
“Whether they run on premises or in the cloud, enterprise servers remain heavily dependent on block storage”,said Alex Lefterov, CEO of Tiger Technology. “By seamlessly bridging the gap between block and object storage, Tiger Bridge eliminates a huge barrier and enables organizations of all sizes to instantly leverage cloud storage resilience and scalability without having to re-engineer their existing infrastructure.”
Tiger Bridge maximizes storage utilization while minimizing operational costs. In the event of a disaster, Tiger Bridge ensures business continuity with minimal recovery time.
“By allowing any number of hosts to synchronize their file systems and interface directly with cloud services” states Bob Vassar, VP WW Technical Sales & Service at Tiger Technology, “Tiger Bridge is ideally suited for scalable, multi-point ingests and massive edge deployments.”
